January 14, 2010- Matthew, Post 4

I was just trying to get to sleep not too long ago,and as you do, I was thinking about everything in my day, and then I suddenly remembered my blog post for the day, "hodamn, I need to do that now!" and forced my weary body out of my bed to contribute a little. I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS 'cuz I would be sad if I was missing out on sleep time for nothing! loljk ^^"

So today, I decided that I didn't need to have a hot shower all the time, and so I used at least 1/2 the hot water I already do. I am planning on doing this as often as I don't feel sick.

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to sleep. >_> zzzzz lol I'm too funny.

January 12, 2010- Matthew, Post 3

xD thank you Elliott, and I do have another task to add today, I intentionally skipped out on a ride home to enjoy the weather and to save some harmful emissions, I'm tight for time today, so... I'm off! *drops a smoke bomb*
GONE!

Thanks,
Matt

January 12th, Elliott Neumeister

Wow Matt, I'm really impressed. You took over and did 2/2.5/3 (depending on how you count) posts while I totally forgot. Well done! I'll contribute again today, to try to make up for my misses. I took Matthew's idea and went with it a bit, by sorting our garbage. We still have the little green bin, but everyone forgets, and reverts to previous habits. So... I sorted through the gross stuff, and it sucked. But I found quite a bit of extra recyclables and compost-ables that would have been landfilled otherwise. Keep up the good work, everyone!

January 10, 2010- Matthew, Post 2

Wow, I've got to tell you that this blog has been a complete run-off from my daily routine ._." I've been having to remind myself over 20 times a day to write my adventures down here, but with my homework, and company... and coughrockbandcough-- I've only yet to manage three posts so far. =\

Well, down to business, for the tenth of January I am going to sleep with, extra warm pajamas, an extra blanket, and no space heater for the night.
The main reason I use my space heater is so that I can wake up in the morning, [and feel like P-Diddy] and crawl out of bed without having a heart attack. (It be the coldness that settles at the feet of my loft bed during the night lolz)
my solution to that problem is;
  1. To wear socks to bed :D
  2. Leave my door open for circulation through the house at night.
  3. And to wear my custom-made Snuggie in the morn. (It's a backwards robe ;D)
Thank you and come again!

January 9, 2010- Matthew, Post 1.5

Well, this morning I woke up and thought it was around 7am where as it was actually 2pm ^^"
It made me feel bad as I wasted 5 hours of the morning laying still, where I could have been doing something productive. D:

But then I thought of the lights and my laptop and the many other electrical appliances in the basement turned off for an extra few hours this morning! Some-what-sorta a Win-Win you might say? >.>

But this is not the main reason for this post, and hopefully I will have a better, more planned task for today at a later point, I felt that the blog that influenced our blog should receive proper recognition.

Every Small Thing is written by someone who I am proud to call family, Shelagh Dunn!
Well ^ that was the 10 seconds of fame for you, and now that we have both linked to each other's blog, readers might find themselves clicking back and forth through the links as means of entertainment, or, it would be much appreciated if you could share our blogs with your friends, through Facebook, E-mail, or a walk in the bitter cold (at least here lol) to a neighbor's house :)

Thank you and I look forward to the future posts from my fellow scouts ^^

January 8, 2010- Matthew, Post 1

xD so as the second person to take initiative on our 30 day task, (nine days later... ^^" ) I set up our recycling system of Sherwood Park in my bedroom, so that the bag of everything doesn't just get thrown into the black bin at the end of my week. There, now you have my contribution for the day :D

Hopefully I'll have more ideas on the way.

Actually, I do have another one, I will stop doing schoolwork that requires excess paper, and save at least three extra pieces of paper per day.

Quick info

Just so all you scouts know, I added each of you (except Tony) as an Author of this blog. This gives you all full posting rights, so have at it!

The Eighth of January

My brother actually recommended something for today, and so I tried it, even though it sounds dumb. He said to, and I quote, "pee and only flush once". Way to go, Ben. So from this, I decided to use less water today. Less toilet-flushing, no shower, less hand washing (still some), and I cooked sans-eau. That means without water. Have fun!

January 7th

Although I'm posting today, I actually did something yesterday. I took out all of our organics, and washed dishes by hand, as the dishwasher gives off too much excess water. Try it, its time consuming!

January 6th

I also forgot about today, so how about walking home from school? My brother actually did this, and although it was cold, he didn't contribute to carbon emissions. Good Job Ben!

January 5th

Today, I admit, I totally forgot to do this blog. So I'm going to say that in addition to whatever you do today, try and recycle more as well. That's what I did today.

January 4th

For today, why don't we do something that has to do with food? Try eating leftovers cold, or anything else raw. But avoid cooking and microwaving! Veggies n' dip are great for this. Have at it!

January 3rd

So for today, I was thinking that we could all do with some exercise. No using your TV, video games, iPod, or even computer (except to reply with your ideas). Instead, go to Millennium Place, or hang out with friends (outside, no using their video games). Go to the mall if you want. Just get out of the house, and away from the electronic temptation. That's all for today!

January 2nd

So for today, we should move on to something more challenging. How about, for today, you go out of your way to not drive? I know it's cold, but try and bike, or walk. At least carpool to reduce emissions. Or, don't go anywhere, but be conservative at home. Thats all for today!

New Year's day

Today, since we're starting off, we'll do something simple. How about you turn off all of the lights and appliances in the house unless they're in use? Easy, and yet very effective. Thats all for today!

Welcome, Scouts!

This is an introductory post to this blog. As we had mentioned earlier, there was a lady who had started a blog about doing one thing a day to help the environment. So, this is how I've gotten it to work. Every day (hopefully), I'll log on to this blog and post one of my thoughts on what we should do to be more environmental that day. Post any other Ideas you may have, or improvements to mine. Then, we all have to do at least one thing on that post for that day. Sound good? I hope so. Lets get started! Oh, and if you miss several days, get back on and try to catch up. Good luck to you all!
